Hi people, as you already know (or maybe you are knew) the seocontest2008 is just coming to its end. There is just 6 days before the contest ends. It has taken me so much time to participate into the contest, but the finish is not that good. My ranking has drop from place 39 till 55. For my part I believe that it is a little bit late to rank first in google in just 6 days!!! At least with only white hat. But who knows, there may be still some seo magics that is still in the air. I think that doing a good start is very important for making a good finish as well. I think that I will keep this in mind while participating in other seo contest in the future.
With those techniques that have been acquired, I believe that great work can be done. But sure I will need some time for the seocontest2008 aftermath. But with the help and support of the other challengers, I think that this will be ok. We need to start thinking about the future of our blogs after the participation. I hope that for the other participant it was fun too.
Everybody are just talking about blue hat seo. This is a term that I have come across while participating to the seocontest2008. Since there was no clear meaning of it, I have tried to give one for the meaning of blue hat seo. This is quite ok, but now we need something related to multimedia. So I tried to find a video on youtube that was talking about any thing related to blue hat. This is what I have seen and I have posted it below so that every one can enjoy. This is called Blue Hat For A Blue Day from Nick Heyward. Have a nice time to enjoy it.
One important thing to rank well for particular keyword is to use this keyword as anchor text for the backlinks. There are many ways for getting backlinks. The more they are natural, the more search engines will like them. How do search engines know that they are natural? Well this will all depend on their internal algorithm. Since I was not part of the team that developed Google search engines algorithm, I can only make estimation. I can only do some testing and from the results that we have, starting to analyze the possible process.
Let start with the assumption that: all the link to a website is from natural linking. Being natural, means that it is the webmasters of the other site that decides to include a link to your website. What will remain constant is your url, but what will vary is the anchor text. Not all the webmaster will put same anchor text. They will vary, depending on the way your website has help them. Having all the anchor text links similar, will sure make any logic thinking person that something is fishy. This type of checking may have been included in Google SE.
For someone that does only paid links, they must bear in mind that they may be penalized if they have the same anchor text. You should take as a good practice when doing link exchange or paid links to use more than 1 anchor text. The ideal would be 3, which are highly related to your website main keyword. Some different alternative in your keyphrase can make it. This is something that I have learned through this contest, and this may be the reason why I was not ranking well in the beginning. When some of my posts were getting more popular, other blog were linking to those pages. The anchor they were using was my post title.
Google weight a link to your site as a vote. As long as a vote is fair and free, everybody is happy. But what happen when you pay for a vote? When paying for votes, candidates that come to the first place normally do not deserve it. “Google’s mission is to organize the world’s information and make it universally accessible and useful.” As you can see, Google mission is to make useful information available to the public. I believe that human factor is part of the algorithm, and that much effort has been made (and is still being made, since the algorithm is an evolving technology) to ensure that.
